HEALTHCARE
Outreach
1 June 2024

Chiggy Nsofor Foundation (CNF) recently launched a vital Healthcare Outreach targeting two hospitals in Kuje, Abuja: Kuje General Hospital and White Dove Hospital. This initiative aimed to provide essential support to pregnant women, new mothers and young children who are unable to afford their medical bills and medications, demonstrating our commitment to making healthcare a fundamental right for all.
During our visit we encountered several patients in critical need of assistance. Patients who benefitted from our intervention include new mothers who could not pay their neonatal and postnatal bills, children suffering from pneumonia and malnourishment whose parents could not afford their treatment and medications, and patients who were treating ulcers.
The Foundation cleared the medical bills for the pregnant women, new mothers and their newborns ensuring that their financial burdens were alleviated. Among these patients helped was a new mother whose baby was in dire need of oxygen but could not afford it. Our foundation was glad to offset the bills to enable her baby access to the oxygen needed.
A beneficiary of our healthcare outreach was a child diagnosed with chronic pneumonia. Her mother explained that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia and there was no money to treat her. CNF stepped in and paid for her daughter's treatment and also bought the prescribed drugs to aid her recovery.
Another heart-wrenching case was that of a severely malnourished child. Her father related the struggle he was facing and his inability to afford her medical bills and drugs due to economic hardship. The Foundation paid his child's medical expenses, bought all her prescribed medications and also provided funds for her feeding, ensuring the little child has a comprehensive path to full recovery.
