Chiggy Nsofor Foundation took a significant step with the execution of its Project Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Fountain International Schools and Eminent Royal Crown Academy, Keffi, Nasarawa State. This initiative aims to instill proper hygiene practices and improve sanitation among students.
The outreach commenced with interactive sessions where the students learned the importance of regular handwashing and proper waste disposal. Demonstrations on effective handwashing techniques were conducted, emphasizing the role of hygiene in preventing diseases.
In addition to teaching the fundamentals of handwashing and disease prevention, CNF introduced a broader hygiene education segment that included oral care, body care, skincare, clothing care, and menstrual hygiene for female students to understand menstruation, using sanitary pads, and safely disposing of menstrual items.
The outreach featured a series of activities including distribution of sanitary materials such as mops, disinfectants, detergents and trash cans. Additionally, hygiene kits containing items such as soap, hand sanitizers, sponge, toothpaste and toothbrush, hair combs, deodorants and other hygiene kits were also distributed to the students.
Over 100 students benefited from Project WASH, which aimed to improve sanitation, educate students on a holistic approach to personal hygiene and self-care.
