HEALTHCARE
Partnership
11 October 2024

Chiggy Nsofor Foundation (CNF) and FemPower partnered at L.E.A Primary School, Mpape, on the 11th of October, to host an impactful outreach focused on menstrual hygiene education and girl-child empowerment. The initiative aimed to equip young girls with the knowledge, confidence, and resources they need to stay healthy and focused on their education.
The event brought together key partners, including Wazobia FM, Cool FM, Nigeria Info FM, Air Peace, and FIDA (The International Federation of Women Lawyers), all committed to advancing gender equality and promoting access to menstrual hygiene products.
The program commenced with an interactive session led by Dorkong Rimdan, CEO and Founder of FemPower, who delivered essential education on menstrual hygiene management and self-care practices. Her presentation provided practical guidance designed to break stigmas and encourage open dialogue about menstrual health.
Following the educational segment, Chiggy Nsofor, Founder and CEO of the Chiggy Nsofor Foundation, inspired the students with a message of empowerment. She challenged traditional stereotypes by emphasizing that women and girls can pursue any career path they choose. To reinforce this message of self-belief, she led the students in singing "I Know I Can Be What I Want to Be."
The event also featured a workshop on making reusable sanitary pads, a sustainable alternative that supports both health and environmental goals. In addition, CNF provided material support to the school, donating 16 cartons of soft-care pads and over 15 packs of tissue paper to help address the ongoing need for menstrual hygiene supplies.
